Holy Cross Parish Re-Opening for Mass and What Parishioners Can Do.

May 22, 2020

It is with great joy that we can announce the resumption of the celebration of the Mass at Holy Cross Parish, even though Mass will be celebrated with a reduced number of participants. In accordance with the provincial guidelines for gatherings (groups of no more than 10) Holy Cross Parish is in the process of implementing a way to ensure fairness and equity amongst our parishioners desiring to attend Mass. Please be reminded that, as per Archbishop Donald Bolen’s letter, dispensation to forgo Mass attendance is still in effect. If you are not comfortable coming, you do not have to. Three key elements are to be kept in mind:

  1. We are looking to collect the names of all parishioners who are wanting and comfortable to come to a Mass. Please phone and please help us get this message out by sharing this letter and information.

  2.  We want to minimize the “first come first serve” principal. We expect it to take 2-3 weeks to get the message out and responses from all who wish to come back to Mass.

  3. We want to give all those wishing to be at Mass the opportunity to do so before we start to have individuals repeat coming to Mass.

Names of those wishing to attend Mass will be collected by Martin. Please call (306) 347-0929 and speak withy him directly. It is at that time you will be booked in for a Mass. If he is unavailable, please leave a message and he will return your call promptly.

We will require your name, email address and telephone number.

We have five weekly Masses: Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 9:00 a.m., Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

1).  Please indicate which Mass you may like. Weekend Masses will be more desirable. We will fill weekday Masses as per request but weekend Masses will be assigned. Martin is manually scheduling and he would like to fulfill your desire but that may not be possible. Please be patient.

2).  On Thursday mornings Martin will check, confirm and finalize the schedule for the following two (2) weeks. It is your responsibility to keep track. There will be no reminders. If you do not have a space and been confirmed by Martin, please do not come.

3).  If you are not able to attend the Mass you have agreed to or if the number of attendees in your household has changed please contact Martin as per contact info above.

a.    Cancellations with advance notice are much appreciated and replacements will be placed as is possible.

b.    Each Attendee must have taken the Public Health Assessment questionnaire prior to attending Mass. Click here to go to the online assessment tool. The questions are below. You will be asked prior to entering the church if you have taken the questionnaire.
